Our Heritage: A Foundation Built in 1979
Wausau Auctioneers was founded in 1979 by Carl Theorin and Bob Lazewski. Since then, the company has conducted over 2,000 successful auctions across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio. For more than 45 years, Wausau Auctioneers has been a trusted name in selling construction equipment, farm machinery, logging equipment, sawmill and woodworking machinery, metal fabrication equipment, transportation assets, real estate, and business liquidations.
In 2003, Carl welcomed his son John Theorin into the business, marking a new chapter in the Wausau Auctioneers legacy. John quickly became an integral force behind the company’s signature Spring and Fall auctions, helping transform them into high demand events that continue to grow year after year. His commitment to bringing in high quality equipment, delivering topnotch service to consignors, and maintaining the trusted reputation built since 1979 has played a major role in shaping the auction experience our buyers and sellers rely on today.
As the industry evolved, Wausau Auctioneers adapted — offering live auctions, live auctions with simultaneous online bidding, and online only auctions. That same commitment to innovation and customer service is the foundation of Midwest Gov & Fleet Auctions.
